Look familiar? Apple Martin joined her mother Gwyneth Paltrow on the red carpet of the Marty Supreme premiere in New York last night, wearing the sleek black Calvin Klein Collection dress Paltrow originally wore to the New York premiere of her iconic movie Emma in 1996.
Back then, Paltrow embraced an almost grungy beauty look, pairing the pared back dress with smudged blue-gray eyeshadow and kohl eyeliner, finished off with a dark red lip. Her blonde hair was pulled up into a loose bun, dark roots showing at a zig-zag center part and tendrils of hair around her ears. It was very in keeping with the red carpet vibe at the time, but a touch more rebellious than the super refined Paltrow we have come to know.

While the shocking shade of Marty Supreme orange hasn’t found its way into the beauty regime of either Gwyneth or Apple, you can trust that the pair will always find symmetry when it comes to classic, sophisticated codes of glam, for the better. And this is only among their first red carpet appearances together—more to come from this glam, fresh-faced pair.
